Christmas is coming!!!

Well this is not as soon after my last post as I would have liked, but I had a minor set back by way of the laptop not working for a while. :(
Can't believe how fast Christmas has come this year, and we're set to have a white Christmas as well! I don't mind if its snows as long as I'm wrapped up indoors!! haha!
Anyhow, I've got my advent calendar for the kids finally finished! Hoorah! It was only 1 day late as I was so busy last week making various things to order.
Here are the pictures....
I'm thinking of making kits up for next year now to sell, as it was so satisfying making this for my children, knowing it will be used every year for a long time to come! Its a bit sketchy and rough round the edges, but seeing as I didn't have a pattern or copy it from any pictures I think its pretty good. (If I do say so myself) Had I decided to start it earlier I would have made sure that it was perfect but I quite like the rough look. Mikey's put little notes in for each day with a clue to where his choccie or little prize is! Genius! Much more fun than an average advent calendar from Asda!

On the cake front, this is my latest:

A little creation of mine for a friend for his birthday, it turned out a lot better than I thought when I first started it, so was pretty happy with this too! Not sure how it tasted as for some reason no-one cuts the cake in front of me, ever! Haha! I'm pretty confident it was a tasty one though ;) (I hope at least!)

Next little projects were the sock monkeys I made for a friend who asked me to make them for her as presents for her nieces:

I love them <3 They are made from the softest furry socks and are a purple pair and a pink pair mixed and matched! These are available in my shop as well:  http://www.folksy.com/shops/SilknRibbon
I think they make gorgeous little stocking fillers! You know what my lot are getting for Crimbo this year!

I think that I've said more then enough for one night, so I'm off to finish my costume for a fancy dress night I'm going to tomorrow night!

Ciao for now xxx

My first EVER blog......

Hi there! This seems a little strange as I have never written a blog or diary before but I fancied giving it a go after reading so many blogs by incredibly talented Mummy's!
I have just started making the children a large felt advent calendar which I hope will be brought out year after year! Its a project which started on Monday night and all I have to do is hand sew from box 5 onwards!! Got to hurry up with it as well as there is not very long until the 1st of December and the countdown to Christmas! I will post photo's of the finished article before next week.
I'm so excited for Chrimbo this year! It's the first year I will be spending it completely on my own with just Mikey, Frankie and Asha.....which means the first time EVER I have had to cook a Christmas dinner!!! I'm thinking it cant be too hard though, I've made a few roasts in my time :) We're not having a Turkey either, I forewarned Mikey, because I feel it just won't get eaten all up and they are so expensive!
Anyhow on the cake front, this is my latest addition:

This was my first cake I've made for a paying customer. I met the girl once and added her on Facebook, she saw my other pics and commissioned me to make this. I was a bit nervous and if I'm honest, not completely happy with the finished article. She was very happy though, which is all that matters. <3

Folksy......
I have started my own Folksy shop:
Its been up and running now for about 3 weeks and so far I've had only 2 sales :( I'm trying to think of ways to promote my business more, but so far have come up with none :( lol. However, my facebook page is doing quite well so theres a bonus :) I have been making lots of custom order Tutus for little girls and they do look just divine if i do say so myself!

This is my beautiful Asha modelling a tutu which I originally made for her but it ened up too big somehow! So its now for sale :) It will fit a 2-3 year old girl. I love they way you can team it up with a funky hoody and boots for cute winter look :)

Right thats it for now folks, I'll get back soon with my latest crafty projects!
